Whether you're completely new to counselling or have been here before, meeting someone new and sharing your experiences can feel daunting. I’ve been there myself, so I truly understand. We all need and want different things from a therapist — and that’s completely okay.
To help you decide if I’m the right fit for you, I offer a free 20-minute online session with no obligation. It’s a chance for us to meet, talk about what you’re looking for, and see how we might work together.
Your First Counselling Appointment – What to Expect
Starting counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s completely natural to feel a little uncertain or nervous. My aim is to make you feel as comfortable and supported as possible right from the beginning.
A Space to Be Heard
In our first session, I’ll invite you to share what’s brought you to counselling and what you’re hoping to explore or change. There’s no rush or pressure to go into anything before you feel ready—this is your space, and we’ll go at your pace.
An Integrative Approach
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches depending on your individual needs. This means we can work together in a way that feels right for you, whether you're looking for support around a specific issue or something less defined.
Building a Foundation
We’ll talk a little about your background, any challenges you’re facing, and what you might like to get out of our work together. I’ll also explain how I work, how confidentiality is handled, and we’ll discuss practical things like how often we might meet.
Finding the Right Fit
The relationship between client and counsellor is really important. If, for any reason, it feels like I’m not the right fit for you, that’s completely okay. I can support you in finding someone else who might be better suited to your needs through a referral.
Through ongoing training and continuous development of my practice, I also incorporate tools and insights from Gestalt therapy, trauma-informed approaches, Transactional Analysis, CBT, and more to support a wide range of concerns, including:
Each counselling session lasts 50 minutes and is priced at £75.
A block of 4 sessions, paid in advance, is available at a reduced rate of £280.
I believe that counselling should be accessible for all, I therefore offer a limited number of appointments at a lower rate to support those where the cost of therapy is a boundary.
Day rates for school-based work are available on request — please get in touch for details.
I offer online and telephone appointments, so wherever you are, as long as you have a quiet, confidential space and a good connection, support is still within reach — location doesn’t need to be a barrier.
In-person appointments are also available from my newly refurbished counselling space at Manak House in Lower Sydenham. The space is easily accessible by train, just a 3-minute walk from Lower Sydenham station. There is on-street parking nearby, and if mobility is a concern, a private parking space can be arranged in advance.
Manak House is also located along Cycle Route 21 on the Waterlink Way — a peaceful 8–9-minute walk from Cator Park or just a few minutes by bike.
