I support children and young people aged 9 to 18 through weekly 1:1 counselling in a school setting. These sessions offer a consistent, confidential space where students can explore whatever’s on their mind — no matter how big or small.
I work with a broad range of emotional and behavioural challenges, including anxiety, low mood, bereavement, self-harm, and issues related to neurodiversity. I also support students experiencing Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), helping them gently reconnect with school life in a way that feels safe and manageable.
My own school experience wasn’t always easy, so I understand just how difficult this can be — especially in today’s world. Navigating identity, friendships, family pressures, academics, and social media can feel overwhelming, particularly when compounded by inequality or the aftershocks of the pandemic.
That’s why I believe in offering young people a calm, supportive space where they feel heard, seen, and empowered to make sense of their emotions and experiences.
I hear you.
I see your pain.
I understand loss.
Through my own experience of childhood grief, and years of supporting bereaved individuals at St Christopher’s Hospice, I have come to understand the ever-changing nature of the journey that grief can be. Loss touches every part of life — it changes the way we see the world, ourselves, and others.
Whether your bereavement is recent, or your loss happened many years ago, your grief is valid. There is no time limit. At any stage of life, when our assumptive world is turned upside down or we’re aching for someone who is no longer here, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed, confused, or deeply sad.
I offer a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space where your loss can be acknowledged, felt, and gently explored — where we can begin to make sense of what’s been left behind. I also continue to study and share ways of supporting children and their caregivers through grief, with the aim of offering compassionate guidance during these incredibly sensitive times.
