MEET KATHERINE

I’m Katherine Hamblin — a qualified adult and child integrative therapist based in Beckenham. I offer bereavement support and counselling for children, drawing from psychodynamic, person-centred, and trauma-informed frameworks to help clients explore their emotions safely, creatively, and at their own pace.

As a qualified integrative therapist for both adults and children & young people, I utilise a range of therapeutic approaches to provide tailored support to each individual. My core training in psychodynamic therapy allows us to explore how early experiences shape who we are today, while person-centred therapy emphasises the importance of empathy, acceptance, and a non-judgemental space, promoting our inherent capacity to heal and grow.

Whether you’re seeking counselling  to untangle the past, feeling stuck in the present, or unsure about how to move forward, integrative therapy offers a flexible, personalised approach. Since we are all unique even when sharing similar experiences -  therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process.

I also enjoy incorporating creative methods when appropriate , using imagery, metaphor, or creative exercises - but only if that feels comfortable with you. Some people find it beneficial to express themselves beyond words, while others may prefer a more traditional talking therapy approach. Both avenues are valid, and together we can explore what suits you best.

MY SERVICES

Specialism – Bereavement

Specialist child bereavement counselling in Bromley, Kent.

My own journey through childhood grief inspired me to provide bereavement support for others navigating loss. With professional experience from St Christopher’s Hospice and school-based counselling, I offer a blend of empathy, lived understanding, and therapeutic knowledge to help you heal.

Childhood grief and loss shape how we see the world. Whether the loss is recent or long ago, it can feel overwhelming at any age. I specialise in bereavement and offer counselling for children, as well as adults who were bereaved as children:

- A safe, respectful space for children, adults, and those who experienced loss in childhood

- Tools to make sense of grief and its ongoing impact

- Support rooted in lived experience and hospice-based training, including integrative therapy

Your pain is real. Your grief is valid. You don't have to face it alone.
